How this works

  • Prescribed for youA US-licensed provider reviews your history before anything is filled, and decides whether it's right for you.
  • Filled for your prescriptionMade by a 503A facility for your prescription. Shipped to you. Syringes and alcohol prep pads included.
  • LegitScript certifiedIndependently checked for safe, legal telehealth practice. See our certification
  • Not approved? You pay nothingIf the provider doesn't approve it, it's refunded in full automatically.

What “not FDA-approved” means: compounded medicines are made by a licensed pharmacy and filled for an individual prescription. The FDA doesn't review compounded medicines for safety, effectiveness or quality before they're dispensed, the way it reviews approved drugs. Your provider decides whether one is right for you.

Is this right for you?

It may fit if:

  • You want a licensed provider to review your history before anything is prescribed
  • You want one ingredient, made for your prescription. Made by a 503A facility for your prescription.
  • You want to know who made it and how to report a problem
  • You'd rather not buy something labeled “not for human use”
  • You're comfortable with injections in cycles, billed every 4 months until you cancel

A licensed provider decides whether it's right for you, after reviewing your intake.

Research

What the research says (and doesn't)

What researchers have studied, and what they have not shown. None of this is a claim about what this peptide does for you; your provider talks with you about what is and isn't known.

Studied

  1. Cell study

A 2003 cell-culture study reported telomerase activity and telomere lengthening in human fetal fibroblasts exposed to Epitalon.

“induced expression of the catalytical subunit, enzymatic activity of telomerase, and telomere elongation”

  2. Animal study

Mouse lifespan and tumor studies gave mixed results: one study in CBA mice reported more survivors at 23 months, while a study in SHR mice found no effect on average lifespan.

“the number of mice treated with Epitalon that reached the age of 23 months surpassed the control group 4.0-fold.”

  3. Small human study

A placebo-controlled study gave sublingual Epitalon (not injections) for 20 days to women aged 40 to 50 who worked night shifts, and measured a urinary melatonin metabolite. No safety data were reported.

“a randomized, placebo-controlled study that evaluated the effect of sublingual (SL) Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly”

  4. Review article

A 2026 narrative review concluded that the human evidence is limited to small physiological or biomarker studies.

“no adequately powered randomized trial has established therapeutic efficacy.”

  5. FDA review

FDA found no clinical safety data for Epitalon, particularly by subcutaneous injection, judged the mouse toxicology studies inadequate, and raised a cancer concern because Epitalon activates telomerase.

“there are no clinical data to support the safety of epitalon (free base) or epitalon acetate when used in humans.”

Not shown

  • No adequately powered randomized trial exists. The human data are small biomarker studies, largely from one research group, and mostly sublingual or eye injection rather than subcutaneous.
  • The often-cited elderly mortality study used Epithalamin, a pineal-gland extract, not synthetic Epitalon.
  • FDA flagged a theoretical cancer concern from telomerase activation and found the mouse toxicology inadequate to judge genotoxic or carcinogenic potential.
  • Pharmacokinetic, dose-ranging and long-term safety data are described as inadequate in the 2026 review. No ClinicalTrials.gov registration for Epitalon was found.

Epitalon is not FDA-approved. In briefing documents for its July 23–24, 2026 Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee meeting, FDA proposed not adding Epitalon to the 503A bulks list; the committee's votes and any final FDA decision were not found. HHS's interim policy describes the conditions under which HHS does not intend to act against a 503A pharmacy that compounds it for a patient's own prescription.

What you should know

What it is

Epitalon (also spelled Epithalon) is a 4-amino-acid peptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). It is one of the six peptides in an interim HHS policy for compounding pharmacies. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and are not the same as brand-name medications. Nothing is made or shipped until a licensed provider approves it for you. If a provider says it's not right for you, you pay nothing.

Who it's for

You want a peptide prescribed by a licensed provider, not a research-use vial. You want one ingredient, made for your prescription. You want a person to ask between visits.

What comes in the box

Your Epitalon Injectable, 100 mg, the syringes and alcohol prep pads you need for each injection, and the pharmacy insert, shipped cold-packed.

Can I get Epitalon with a prescription?

Yes, by prescription. Epitalon is one of the six peptides in HHS's interim policy (October 2026). A licensed provider decides whether it's right for you; if it is, it's made for your prescription by a 503A facility and shipped to you. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and are not the same as brand-name medications.

Do I need a membership for Epitalon?

No. You can order Epitalon on its own: a short intake, a licensed provider's approval, and your prescription made and shipped. A membership adds four lab panels and four provider visits a year and a wellness consultant between visits.

How it's made

Made by a 503A facility for your prescription. One ingredient per product. Never blended. It is labeled with your name and your prescription.

Does it renew?

Yes. Billed every 4 months, one cycle per charge. It renews until you cancel. You can cancel before any renewal.

Who sets the dose?

Your provider sets the dose.

Is it FDA-approved?

No. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and are not the same as brand-name medications. The HHS policy that covers it is not FDA approval, and HHS can revisit it.
